About

I earned my SAP S/4HANA certification while working in Saudi Arabia in the middle of a war.

The work didn't stop while I studied. I was moving cargo and equipment where it had to be, documenting every item coming in, and learning how enterprise systems hold that same supply chain together: material master data, procurement, MM, and EWM. I don't wait for calm conditions to deliver.

I'm an Army veteran with 15+ years supporting the DoD, from the property book to cargo, air terminal, and transportation operations in Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. I've seen what bad data costs: the wrong item ships, the count is off, and the mission pays for it. I bring that experience to cross-functional teams as an analyst, bridging front-line supply chain operations and technology.

SAP Project Portfolio

All project data is fictional sample data made for this portfolio.

/ 01

Replenishment Planning to Reorder Point Configuration

Problem

Fill rate looked healthy at 94%, but the seal kit was down to 6 days of supply and the wiring harness was out of stock, driving 15 of 18 backorders. Replenishment was started by hand, after stock ran low.

Action

Set automatic reorder point planning in the material master (reorder point = daily demand × lead time + safety days), scheduled an MRP Live run, and added a weekly exception review.

Solution

In the sample scenario, the seal kit would have triggered a requisition about 15 days earlier and the wiring harness 40 days before stock-out. Fill rate and days of supply are tracked monthly.

/ 02

Receiving to Procure-to-Pay in MM

Problem

Parts were received without a matching order, invoices didn't match what arrived, and shelf counts didn't match the books.

Action

Designed the flow from requisition to purchase order to goods receipt (101) to invoice, set over-delivery tolerances, defined transfer (311), return (122), and count loss (702) movements, and wrote five test scripts and a clerk training guide.

Solution

Every receipt ties to an order, every invoice matches a receipt, and count differences need a recorded reason before posting.

/ 03

Supply Support Activity to EWM Warehouse Structure

Problem

About 6,000 parts, including sensitive items, were managed on paper counts and hand-kept bin locations, so stock was misplaced and issues were slow.

Action

Designed an embedded EWM structure with five storage types (receiving dock, pallet, shelving, secure cage, issue staging), putaway and removal rules, inbound and outbound flows, and cycle counts with cage items counted most often.

Solution

Every item is tied to a bin, every movement is confirmed by a warehouse task, and count variances are recounted with a documented reason before adjustment.

/ 04

Material Master Governance to Master Data Control

Problem

After cleansing, bad records could creep back in through unchecked changes, with no clear owner for any item.

Action

Defined four roles (requester, data steward, data owner, supply lead), required fields by material type (ERSA spare parts, HAWA trading goods), and a change request flow with a duplicate check and approval step.

Solution

No record goes live without steward and owner approval. Four measures are tracked monthly: duplicate rate, completeness, rejection rate, and days to activate.

/ 05

Legacy Supply Records to S/4HANA Material Master Migration

Problem

412 legacy records had duplicates, missing units of measure, and inconsistent descriptions that SAP would have inherited.

Action

Profiled the data, set a naming standard, merged duplicates, corrected units, mapped fields to the material master (MATNR, MAKTX, MTART, MATKL, MEINS, WERKS, LGORT), and ran a test load with reconciliation.

Solution

41 duplicates merged, 63 units fixed, 88 descriptions standardized, and 19 sent to the data owner. 352 of 371 cleansed records passed load validation. See the full case study.
